May Hibiscus Cuttings Giveaway – Long Beach City College
It’s that time again—our new year of meetings is kicking off, and we’re starting with one of our favorite events… our Hibiscus Cutting Giveaway!
Join us on Saturday, May 9 from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Long Beach City College Horticulture Center for a fun, hands-on day with fellow hibiscus lovers.

Cutting Giveaway Details
Cuttings will be available to all attendees who RSVP, with SCHS Members receiving priority access.
If you’ve been thinking about joining, this is a great event to do it!
Additional Cuttings for Sale
We’ll also have a selection of hard-to-find hibiscus cuttings available for purchase, open to all attendees.
These are special varieties beyond the giveaway, and proceeds will go toward supporting the club 
Helpful Tips for the Day
Bring:
- Ziplock bags (for your cuttings)
- A Sharpie (for labeling)
- A chair if you’d like to relax
- Sunglasses, Hats, Close Toed Shoes
We’ll also have some of our expert growers sharing tips on how to prep, root, and care for your cuttings, so you’ll head home ready for success.

Location & Parking
Long Beach City College – Horticulture Center
1305 Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach, CA 90806
The LBCC Horticulture Center is conveniently located on the west side of Walnut Ave just above the corner of Pacific Coast Highway. Parking is available on Walnut St if you can find a space. Free parking is also located at Parking Lot 10 across the street by the athletic field as well as the parking lot just north of the horticultural center which also has charging stations for electric vehicles. You can also park in the parking structure which the driveway to the structure is immediately before the Horticulture Center on the west side. There is another large event taking place on the campus at the same time as our event so you might get charged for parking in the structure. If there is an attendant let them know you are there for the Horticulture Culture Open House Event. You might be able to park without charge but we cannot guarantee this.
